How Would You Respond to An Obama Wealth Tax?
Pretend, just for a moment, that you're President Obama.
You have big spending plans – national health insurance, two wars, and a trillion dollar bailout for your friends on Wall Street. Not to mention paying for the soaring costs of Social Security and Medicare.
Unfortunately, revenues simply aren't keeping up.

A Prayer of the Optina Elders
A Prayer of the Optina Elders
O Lord, grant me strength to meet with serenity everything forthcoming today. Grant me to submit completely to Your holy will. At every hour of this day guide and support me in all things. Whatsoever news may reach me in the course of this day, teach me to accept it with calmness and the conviction that all is subject to Your holy will. In all my words and actions direct my thoughts and feelings. In all unexpected occurrences, do not let me forget that all is sent down by You. Teach me to deal straightforwardly and wisely with every member of my family, neither embarrassing nor saddening anyone. O Lord, grant me strength to endure the fatigue of the coming day and all the events that take place during it. Direct my will and teach me to pray, to believe, to hope, to be patient, to forgive and to love. Amen.

YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT - Malum Prohibitum
Malum prohibitum laws are those which illegalize acts which would not, in and of themselves, be illegal. Generally, these are laws of societal organization and they were created by statutes.
It's a terrible way to think about the law, so anyone defining the two will stick to the most extreme examples. Premeditated murder is malum in se while jaywalking is malum prohibitum. Of course, any closer examination shows this attempt at organization to be badly flawed. For instance, Being a Common Scold would never fit under malum prohibitum. It's closer to malum in se, yet we have rejected this ancient common law as not comporting with modern sensibilities. It was malum in se common law from ancient times until the late 1960's - early 1970's. See State v. Palendrano 1972, 120 N.J. Super. 336. Malum in se is not the unbreakable granitic we have all been taught it is; it is just another construct for the organization of society. It is just malum prohibitum writ large. A better way of defining this breakdown would be pessimum prohibitum and malum prohibitum - a continuum from worst to least.

TIP OF THE WEEK:
GOOD VISION IN A DOWNPOUR
SENT TO ME BY A DEAR FRIEND IN CANADA
How to achieve good vision while driving during a heavy downpour. I can vouch for this!!
We are not sure why it is so effective; just try this method when it rains heavily.
This method was told by a Police friend who had experienced and confirmed it. It is useful...even driving at night.
Most of the motorists would turn on HIGH or FASTEST SPEED of the wipers during heavy downpour, yet the visibility in front of the windscreen still bad......
In the event you face such a situation, just try your SUN GLASSES (any model will do), and miracle!
All of a sudden, your visibility in front of your windscreen is perfectly clear, as if there is no rain.
Make sure you always have a pair of SUN GLASSES in your car, as you are not only helping yourself to drive safely with good vision, but also might save your friend's life by giving him this idea..
Try it yourself and share it with your friends!!.. Amazing, you still see the drops on the windshield, but not the sheet of rain falling. You can see where the rain bounces off the road... It works to eliminate the
"blindness" from passing semi's spraying you too... Or the "kickup" if you are following a semi or car in the rain...
They ought to teach that little tip in driver's training.. It really does work. |
