(RFID included)
By GLENN FARLEY / KING5 News
The border to B.C. is Blaine, Wash.SEATTLE - Hand wringing over more stringent requirements at the border between Washington and British Columbia has now attracted attention of border states and provinces around North America.
Officials are closely monitory the effort by Washington and British Columbia to come up with the first enhanced driver's licenses that would meet more stringent requirements by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and yet allowing drivers to avoid the hassle and expense of getting a passport.
The program is scheduled to begin rolling out in January.

The Obama-ACORN Anti Gun Conspiracy
ACORN -- the Association of Community Organizations for Reform -- a publicly funded national organization is using your tax dollars to actively interfere with the Second Amendment exercise of gun rights in New Jersey and elsewhere.
ACORN went public with its gun control activism when it intervened in an unsuccessful attempt to defend Jersey City, New Jersey, a hot bed of anti-gun rights extremists, to disarm its citizens with a local gun control ordinance. ACORN pushed for stronger local gun restrictions that were already struck down by the New Jersey state court as a violation of state law.
Obama and ACORN's interest is in disarming law-abiding citizens.
It is an outrage that this group has intervened to defend an anti-gun ordinance that has already been declared illegal by the court. So long as ACORN accepts one penny of public funding, the organization should remain absolutely neutral on social issues, political campaigns and especially legal actions defending the right to keep and bear arms.
For the past few election cycles ACORN has clearly grown more partisan toward the radical political Left. ACORN'S PAC, in fact, endorsed Sen. Barack Obama for president, even though their tax-exempt status prohibits endorsement of political candidates. That's hardly surprising since he used to serve as their legal counsel and he taught the group about community organizing. ACORN and Obama are lockstep in seeking to destroy our Second Amendment rights.
We call upon the FBI to expand the scope of its ACORN investigation and focus on the group's involvement in the Jersey City case.
We support Ohio Congressman John Boehner's request that the White House immediately block all federal funding of ACORN activities until this group's questionable activities are fully investigated. We want to know how they are paying for attorneys, and why Seton Hall's Center for Social Justice and the Public Interest Law Center are providing legal assistance to ACORN for this effort.
ACORN has, since 1998, received an estimated $31 million in government funding. Yes, Obama knows a great deal about ACORN and its role in the bailout mess. He is a central figure in the left-wing ACORN exploitation of financial institutions to pressure them to make high risk loans. The very same left-wing ACORN that was sued for voter fraud in our last presidential election.

1ST Quarter 2009 - FIREARM SALES
- retail -
based on tax revenue they are using to fight us!!!
(SEE ARTICLE ABOVE)
Manufacturers of firearms and ammunition pay a federal excise tax -- a major source of wildlife conservation funding -- on all firearms and ammunition manufactured (11% on long guns and ammunition and 10% on handguns).
This latest excise tax report which covers the time period of January 1, 2009 through March 31, 2009, shows that $33.0 million was collected in taxes for pistols and revolvers, $38.9 million for long guns and $37.8 million for ammunition. Compared to the same quarter in 2008, collections were up 65.5% for handguns, 42.9% for ammunition and 28.3% for long guns.
Translation to Sales
Using the latest collections as an indicator of sales, a projection of $1.03 billion was generated in the first quarter (calendar year) of 2009. Please keep in mind that although excise taxes are one of the best indicators of industry performance, they only report what the manufacturers paid in taxes and do NOT reflect retail mark-up and final retail sales.
Pistols and revolvers: $33,043,554.83 / .10 = $330,435,548.30 = $330.4 million for handguns
Long guns: $38,979,972.16 / .11 = $354,363,383.27 = $354.3 million for long guns
Ammunition: $37,846,038.52 / .11 = $344,054,895.64 = $344.0 million for ammunition
Total estimation for the quarter: $1.028 billion

Swiss Bank Secrecy Law Weakened by U.B.S. Deal
Dear A-Letter Reader,
The deal initialed last week between the U.S. and Swiss governments over the long-running dispute concerning the giant Swiss bank, UBS, will involve disclosure to the IRS of the names of about 5,000 Americans with UBS accounts, the weekly newspaper NZZ am Sonntag reported in Sunday editions.
Another Swiss weekly said around 4,500 names would be handed over to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
No doubt UBS hopes the deal will end the pending lawsuit in which the U.S. Department of Justice and the IRS has sued UBS to disclose all 52,000 of its U.S. clients on the spurious grounds that any American who has a UBS account is suspected of tax evasion. (The unofficial and illogical attitude of the IRS has long been that any American with an offshore bank account is probably engaged in tax evasion or some other wrongful conduct. Apparently the presumption of innocence guaranteed by U.S. laws no longer applies to Americans with UBS accounts.).

AMERICA SUFFERING BUYERS REMORSE WITH OBAMA
No…not the artist. That was Basquiat. Bastiat is pretty well known for the broken window fallacy…
In the broken window fallacy, a shopkeeper comes to work one day to find one of his windows has been smashed. He hangs his head and sighs…but then a neighbor wanders up to console him…
“Worry not, my friend,” says the neighbor, “for you see, since your window’s been broken, you’ve created work for the glazier. He’ll have to come out and fix the window. In turn, he’ll buy supplies – which creates more work for his suppliers – and so on down the line. Your minor misfortune will actually create a growing benefit for our economy.”
At which point the two men hear the shrill, piercing laughter of Bastiat. They sneer at him for ruining their lovey-dovey moment…and the bitter old economist clears his throat.
Once the bill is passed, end-of-life provisions can be added later. (Cached)
